2019 – Working as an event planner in New England is a somewhat cyclical profession. In the summer months, it’s go time. Months of diligent planning culminate in the dream events that make it all worth it. Somewhere in between the ebbs and flows of long-term planning and putting the finishing touches on seating charts, there is a moment of quietness where we get to reflect on the year past. Coincidentally – this tends to fall right around the new year.
2019 – Enjoying Wedding Locations in Maine
This year feels particularly impactful, as a very big and important decade for Purple Orchid Weddings + Events is drawing to a close. This year especially, we saw many of the most beautiful corners of our home state of Maine. Early in the season, we coordinated for a bridal party to arrive at the reception on a local lobster boat in Maine’s southern quadrant down in York Beach. As June went on, we teared up as one sweet couple shared their first dance on an open aired dance floor on Chebeague Island. The summer had only just begun at that point, and we still had everything from food truck paloozas to brides climbing up boulders in heels to get the perfect shot.
Corporate Events & Private Parties
As you may know, Purple Orchid Weddings + Events specializes in more than just weddings. 2019 was a year for the books for us with corporate and social events! Close to our home base right outside of Brunswick, Maine, we helped celebrate an important milestone with a graduation party of Bowdoin graduates! Additionally, we had a blast planning birthday parties (including one with multiple locations – did we mention the Lobster Roll cart??), fundraisers, and corporate holiday parties.
A New Look for Purple Orchid
When we weren’t busy traveling and planning for events, we grew the back end of the Purple Orchid as well! Months of planning, editing, and revisions resulted in the launch of our new website, and we are so excited that you are reading this on there right now. We also grew our team to be six people. We are so proud to continue growing our Purple Orchid family while maintaining our same values and personality!
Opportunities, new friends, and views that we experienced this past year. We couldn’t do what we do without your support. If there is one thing that we have learned working in this industry, even when you think you’ve seen it all, there is so many new things to experience. In this year, we are embracing the surprises and twists and turns. We can’t wait to see what the year has in store of us!
